The bickering between Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) president Raju Shetti and the party leader and Maharashtra minister Sadabhau Khot continued today, with Khot asking the former to rein in his followers.
Shetti's followers have accused Khot of being involved in corruption. Shetti himself recently said that Khot had forgotten his roots and shifted his focus away from the welfare of farmers after he became the minister.
"I am not involved in any corruption and my roots lie with farmers. But I will not follow the way Shetti is asking me to follow," said Khot, Minister of State for Agriculture, speaking to reporters.
"I will make my own way. Shetti need not teach me. He must rein in his followers, otherwise I have other ways to teach them a lesson," he added.
Shetti had recently suggested that Khot should quit the BJP-led state government if it acted against farmers' interests. Khot however said he will not resign as being in power allows him to do something for the welfare of farmers.
