The party also sidestepped questions whether activist Arvind Kejriwal, who has started a campaign against corruption targetting Robert Vadra, son-in law of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, as also Khurshid, was an anarchist.
Party spokesperson Sandip Dikshit said since Uttar Pradesh government has already ordered an inquiry into the issue and it has also reached the court, "we should leave it to both the state government inquiry and the court to decide".
He said that after the Law Minister's press conference this is clear that "much of what was being said is perhaps not quite true".
Dikshit said if anybody has any proof, he should take it to the inquiry team and the courts as "the are better medium".
"The probe is on. Let the probe take place. We will see if something comes out of the probe. He (Khurshid) is not interferring into the probe," he said rejecting parallels of the controversy surrounding Khurshid's Trust with the issues related to former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor and former Maharastra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan who had to resign amid controversies.
"The Trust does not come under the direct control of the Law Minister. There is nothing in this which shows direct culpability. These are different issues. What is the culpability of a Chairman of a Trust is different from other types of culpabilities.
Dikshit also took a dig at Kejriwal terming as a "childish" act not suiting to any responsible person" when told that Kejriwal team has given the land line number of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to people to vent their anger.
