His legs slightly spread, knees somewhat bent, Andre Russell regaled the audience by crossing his arms and breaking into the Gangnam-style jig, and then won their hearts with a proclamation that West Indians playing in the IPL are treated "better" in India than in the Caribbean.
"People in India treat us like stars. We don't get that kind of treatment in the Caribbean," Russell told reporters on the sidelines of a promotional event last night.
"I can't explain the way they appreciate people in India," the 24-year-old Delhi Daredevils all-rounder with a unique hairstyle, said.
As is the customary in his part of the world, Russell loves "spending time at home, and a lot of partying."
A beauty pageant was held in the extravagant interiors of a city hotel to announce the Nissan and Delhi Daredevils 'Face of the Year', an event which saw six Daredevils players seamlessly slip into the role of an adjudicator.
Gracing the occasion were Irfan Pathan, Ashish Nehra, David Warner, Andre Russell, Roelof van der Merwe, Shahbaz Nadeem and coach Eric Simmons.
In tune with the evening, the cricketers indulged in some playful banter.
Even as Irfan blushed after one of the pageant participants expressed her keen desire to go on a date with the good-looking cricketer, Warner conceded that he is a "bit of a prankster" of the team.
All smiles, the Aussie was responding to an accusation that he was the team's "bully".
As far as playing pranks were concerned, Warner said Naman Ojha was his favourite target.
