Samir Biswas, a retired doctor of Eastern Coalfileds Limited, was arrested last night from a relative's residence at Mahishila colony of the town.
Biswas had been absconding since August 2010 following charges against him of providing medical treatment to Kishanji and other Maoists in their hideouts in the forests and keeping contact with them.
Police had then raided his residence at the ECL housing colony Pachghoria and seized documents.
