KMC to amend 1980 Building Rules: Mayor

Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee today said the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) would amend the 1980 Building Rules.
Chatterjee said the KMC has held talks with the West Bengal government for amending the KMC's 1980 Building Rules as the approval of the state assembly is needed for the amendment.
The Mayor said the KMC had last year received Rs 55 crore as fine for regularising illegal buildings which were built in the city.
