"Acting was the second option for me after modelling. It was Govinda who told me to try acting and then eventually offered me the film in the lead role. He not only took the initiative but also guided and mentored me throughout the film as a senior," Sharma said.
Slated for release on August 29, the action-comedy film has Govinda playing an idealistic cop.
"I am debuting with a very challenging role of a blind lady who is married to Govinda but there is a mystery attached to this as well," the model-turned-actress said.
"The best part is that you will see Govinda in the type of a role for which he has been known for long. You will see him doing comedy at his best," she said.
On the lookout for character-oriented roles, Richa said she also has few other Hindi and a Bengali film script in her kitty.
Crowned Mrs India International in 2011, she is also the global brand ambassador of the pageant and Ladies Circle India.
