Kolkata Police filing false cases against BJP workers:

BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya today accused Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar of "behaving like deputy CM" and said the party will move court to expose Kolkata Police for trying to malign the BJP by filing false cases.
Vijayvargiya rubbished the allegations that BJP activists threw bombs and set a police vehicle on fire during yesterday's march to the Kolkata Police headquarters and accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and police of "hatching a conspiracy" to malign BJP.
BJP workers yesterday clashed with the police at different places across the city during their march to the police headquarters demanding arrest of 'corrupt' TMC leaders, prompting the force to use teargas shells, water canons, and batons to disperse them.

Vijayvargiya challenged the TMC administration and police to prove the cases in the court.
"We were arrested and the Kolkata police commissioner, who is behaving as deputy CM, is filing false cases against BJP activists. I challenge him to prove even a single case against us. None of the BJP workers had thrown bombs or set fire on police vehicles. This has been done by police and TMC goons to malign us. We will move court against Kolkata police and Rajeev Kumar. We will expose them in court," Vijayvargiya told reporters.
Vijayvargiya who along with state party chief Dilip Ghosh addressed a press conference at the party office played videos of yesterday's rally where "some unidentified miscreants were seen throwing stones at protesters".

Vijayvargiya, Dilip Ghosh, BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha, party Rajya Sabha MP Roopa Ganguly and state secretary Locket Chatterjee were among those arrested yesterday during the protest-agitation.

"We were conducting a peaceful protest rally and in democracy we have every right to do that. It was police which resorted to unprovoked baton charge. I challenge the police administration and TMC to prove even a single case against us," he said.
Vijayvargiya asked TMC administration to visit BJP ruled states to learn how opposition parties are treated by the ruling regime.
"In police lock up we were treated as if we are hardened criminals. Is this the way to treat political leaders and activists. The TMC should visit BJP ruled states," he said.
