"Kousarnag, being blessed with abundant natural beauty is one of the best suited place that could be developed into an eco friendly tourist destination", Minister for Transport Abdul Ghani Kohli said yesterday.
Asserting Koteranka in Rajouri district has immense tourism potential, Kohli said such untapped virgin tourist destinations have ability to attract tourists in large numbers, both from within and outside the country.
The pilgrim-tourism destination hogged the headlines triggering protests after the state government decided not to allow a group of the Kashmir Pandits to perform the hawan at sacred lake of Kousarnaag in 2014.
The Minister said such virgin areas having huge tourism potential and can be optimally utilized for transforming economic landscape of the region, besides putting it on larger canvas which would in turn enhance income generating opportunities for locals.
