"His Twitter rants are out of control, and Kris fears that he's taking the family down. Kris wants Kanye to hire someone to handle all the noise and drama so he can focus on being an artist," a source said.
Meanwhile, West - who has daughter North, two, and son Saint, two months, with wife Kim Kardashian West - had to come to his own defence earlier this week when he was criticised for claiming he made Taylor Swift famous in one of his new songs.
