Kushwaha demands reservation for OBCs in pvt sector

Union Minister and RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha today demanded reservation for people belonging to Other Backward Caste (OBC) in the private sector and sought an united effort to secure their rights.
"People from OBC are occupying only five per cent of government jobs and in judiciary their presence is negligible," he said at a rally to observe the death anniversary of social reformer Jyotirao Phule here.
Appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for pursuing pro-poor policies, the MoS for HRD called on OBC organisations to put up an united effort and create a platform to get their rights.
The rally was organised by the party's Kurukshetra MP Raj Kumar Saini in his personal capacity. Meanwhile, BJP's OBC wing organised its official function to mark Mahatma Phule's death anniversary in Kaithal.

There is no economic freedom for the poor because people from dominant castes forced their will on them. The poor even do not have political freedom as MPs and MLAs from OBC and Scheduled Castes "do not have any say in anything", he alleged.
People should not tolerate atrocities by those from dominant castes. Even tolerating atrocities is a crime, Saini said, adding equality among various sections is essential for lasting peace in the country and for this there should be "100 per cent reservations on basis of percentage of population of different castes".
He also demanded that the Rajya Sabha be "abolished as it hindered democratic functioning."

The rally held under the banner of 'Samajik Nayay and Samata Maha Sammelan' and was attended by MP Ajay Kumar Nishad, MLA Dalip Singh from Rajasthan and Swami Rameshwaranad from Pushkar in Rajasthan among others.
