Air India has placed an order worth nearly Rs 7.98 crore for getting 65,500 units of amenity kits for its first class and business class passengers, KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena said in a release.
The kits, that includes hand sanitiser and handmade soap, are to be supplied in one month, it added.
"The products will be supplied by Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan, a flagship retail unit of the KVIC. The orders (have been) secured through competitive tendering," Saxena said.
Besides, Raymond has ordered 1,33,318 meters of khadi fabric. The order is worth around Rs 4 crore.
Saxena said that as per an agreement with Raymond, the latter has to procure a minimum of Rs 2.5 crore fabric every year from KVIC.
