Engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said it has supplied the country's first indigenously developed high integrity pressure protection system (HIPPS) to Dirok Gas Field Development Project in Assam.
L&T Valves, a part of L&T, has supplied the first indigenously developed HIPPS to the Dirok project, which is promoted by a consortium of Hindustan Oil Exploration Company (HOEC), Oil India (OIL), and Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), a statement said.
HIPPS is a safety instrumented system (SIS) designed to protect oil and gas production, refining and pipeline systems against over-pressurisation.
"HIPPS leverages the company's expertise in system design and integration. It is a major achievement that reinforces our position as a global leader in engineered flow-control solutions," L&T Valves Chief Executive and Director NV Venkatasubramanian said.
