Kalu Singh, the deceased, was a contractual lab technician with Desert Medicinal Research Centre in Jodhpur and had arrived in Baran as part of a four-member research team on Friday, they said.
He was staying in a room with one of his team members Gajendra Singh. Last night after returning from work, Singh had asked his roommate to get food from a nearby restaurant. Upon his return, Gajendra found the room bolted from inside and informed the police which broke open the door and found the body hanging in the room, SHO Badri Lal said.
Singh was a part of a four-member team from the research centre, in town since October 14 for survey work.
The body has been sent for postmortem, which will be carried out after the arrival of his family from Jodhpur, the SHO said, adding that probe in underway.
