Principal District Judge Sunil Kotwal held Pradeep Harijan, a resident of Gayatri Nagar area in the powerloom town, guilty under section 302 (punishment for murder) of Indian Penal Code.
According to prosecution, Harijan often used to pick fights with his wife Anita over his drinking habit.
On September 10, 2014, Harijan and Anita started arguing on the road and in a fit of rage he hit her head with a stone, Additional Public Prosecutor Sangita Phad told the court.
The prosecution examined seven witnesses during the trial.
