An elated labourer Shivam, who was among the construction workers involved in the project inaugurated the bridge at a function 'Janta ka footover bridge janta ko samarpit (Public's footover bridge, dedicated to public).
The Rs 4.5 crore footover bridge has taken five months to complete.
The footover bridge, that joins East Vinod Nagar area of East Delhi with West Vinod Nagar, would help pedestrians to evade the traffic.
"It was a challenging task as a high tension wire had to be removed and put underground for the bridge to come up," he said.
Sisodia who was present at the venue along with wife Seema also planted saplings at the venue on the occasion of International Women's Day.
They were accompanied by AAP's constituency incharge for Patparganj Ratnesh gupta and PWD officials.
