About 17 lakh devotees, from across the country and abroad, took a holy dip in River Ganga today on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra.
All hotels and guest houses were booked yesterday itself while many devotees spent the preceding night at the city's ghats, including the famous 'Har Ki Pauri'.
Tight security arrangements have been put in place. Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Sweety Agrawal has been monitoring the situation at the ghats.
