President of the Young Lawyers Association, Ratan Agarwal, said they have sought relief of Rs 25 lakh for the kin of deceased advocate Prashant Dwivedi, who was shot dead here on April 23. They are also demanding strict punishment to the accused in the case.
"We will continue organising protests and dharnas until we receive a firm commitment on our demands from the administration," Agarwal said.
The strike has affected routine functioning of the courts in the district.
Three people, including the director of a private management college, have been arrested in connection with the murder of Dwivedi.
Investigators are still looking for one Wasim, a history-sheeter, alleged to be the man who pulled the trigger on the lawyer.
