Lead futures were up by 0.53% at Rs 114.30 per kg on rising spot demand in domestic markets amid a firming trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in current month traded higher by 60 paise, or 0.53%, at Rs 114.30 per kg, with a turnover of 280 lots.

The metal for delivery in March also rose by 45 paise, or 0.39%, to trade at Rs 115.30 per kg, in a business turnover of four lots.

Marketmen said apart from strong domestic demand, particularly from battery-makers, the metal's strength at the London Metal Exchange, influenced lead prices at futures trade here.
