"Every one's displeased... How Modiji became Prime Minister, how he secured clear majority. Their jealousy has not been doused yet," Bharti said after inaugurating a Deendayal Upadhyay Gramin Kaushal Yojna (DDU-GKY) centre at Pratap University here, 50 km away from Jaipur.
Slamming the rivals, she said, "Left parties have nothing to do, they do not even have the standing to come to power. Congress has got no ideology. That is why the two parties are creating an atmosphere of intolerance."
"If a few persons do some things, that is not intolerance...There are 125 crore people in the country," she said.
Referring to an incident of violence in Meerut, Bharti said, "There was an incident of intolerance when two communities clashed and adverse atmosphere was created. Whatever happened was seriously wrong."
Talking about the suicide by the Dalit youth in Hyderabad, the minister said it was "most unfortunate that a young and talented boy was compelled to commit suicide".
"We are very worried and condemn it," she said while hitting out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejariwal and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi over the matter.
Talking about the Partition, she said it was "the biggest incident of intolerance".
"That time neither I was born, nor Modiji. The man who was not born then, how could he be intolerant," she said.
The minister said that "minority people living in India do so because of their love to the country and sense of security which they might not get in neighboring country".
"Hindus believein 33 crore gods andgoddesses and even go to mosques and churches, why minority people avoid reciprocal gesture. Hindus are most tolerant people," she said.
"Secularism should not be linked with politics," she said.
"Hindus are self-reformative. Hindu society is based on Hindu culture and Hindu sanatan dharm, not on politicsof secularism," said Bharti, who arrived about six hours late from Delhi/Noida due to foggy weather after taking the national highway.
On the topic of women's empowerment, she said "Women have been a victim of intolerance in the male-dominated society as they are progressing and marching ahead. There should be equalitybetween men andwomen."
