Left Front forging ahead in Tripura

The CPI(M)-led Left Front in Tripura is forging ahead towards a fifth consecutive term by leading in 35 of the 60 seats, with the Congress a poor second leading in four seats and others in one in the trends available so far.
Among Left Front partners, the CPI(M) is leading in 28 and the CPI in two.
The CPI(M) is trailing in 5 seats, the Congress in 20 and its ally INPT in four and an Independent in 1.
Among CPI(M) candidates those leading are Finance minister Badal Chowdhury from Hrishyamukh, Higher Education minister Anil Sarkar from Pratapgarh, Industries and Commerce Minister Jitendra Chowdhury from Manu (ST).
Among Congress candidates TPCC president Sudip Ray Barman is leading in Agartala.
