Left parties call for Khagaria bandh on Oct 4

Criticising the police and the JD(U) workers for allegedly "brutalizing" the protesters during Kumar's 'Adhikar Yatra', the CPI leader and former MLA Satyanarayan SIngh urged the people of Khagaria to support the bandh call.

In a related development, RJD leader Lalu Prasad will address a public meeting on October five next at the same venue where the Chief Minister held his public meeting last week, party sources said.

The Chief Minister's visit to Khagaria district was marred by violence by the protesters, including the contractual teachers, prompting the police to lathicharge and fire in the air to disperse the mob.
