The actress, 40, said she would be "surprised" if "The Revenant" star did not receive the best actor award after missing out with his previous five Oscar nominations, reported the BBC.
"I think you can sort of feel it, and I think that everyone wants it for him," Kate, who is also an Oscars front-runner for best supporting actress.
"It would be amazing," she added.
Winslet was speaking at the London Critics Circle Film Awards. She collected her best supporting actress award for "Steve Jobs", just one week after winning the same prize at the Golden Globes.
