Leopard found dead in dam backwater in Maharashtra

The carcass of a 1-year-old leopard was found in the backwater of the Alvandi dam in the district, police said today.
A farmer Subhash Madhe spotted the wild cat yesterday, whose nails were missing, at Waviharsh, an official attached with Ghoti police station said.
The farmer spotted the animal when had gone to his agriculture field in the vicinity of the backwater, he said.
A team of police and forest official recovered the carcass, the official said.
Forest officials said a post-mortem will soon be conducted.
