long leopard on a palm tree near here has created curiosity among people the locality today.
A leopard aged about eight years was spotted during the day on a palm tree at Saraswatipur village under Balasore Sadar police station.
The leopard could not escape to the nearby forest as hundreds of villagers surrounded the area to see the animal.
The tiger came from nearby Kuldiha reserve forest and efforts were made for its safe passage into forest, said forest ranger Subhendu Bhunya of Kuldihs forest range.
In the evening the leopard jumped from the 25-feet tree and safely disappeared into the nearby Kuldiha forest, he said.
