A female leopard was run over by an unidentified vehicle on a national highway near Ukara village in the district today.
The incident is believed to have occurred at around 3 AM, said ACF Manohar Gokhle.
The stretch is part of a fragmented forest corridor, frequented by the wild animals to cross roads.
"We will now propose a fly over bridge or overpass with NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) for wild animals on that particular stretch and as it's going to take time, we will request to construct small speed breakers there," he said.
