Video conferencing solutions firm Lifesize today unveiled two new products -- Lifesize Icon 400 and Lifesize Icon Flex -- for India targeting small and medium businesses (SMBs) and mid market firms.
The firm, a part of computer peripherals maker Logitech, also launched new enhancements to its Lifesize Cloud video conferencing service.
The US-based company sells its products in India through channel partners. It has three distributors in India -- Redington, Ingram Micro and Greensource.
"Customers tell us that they want video conferencing that simply works: no hassle or complexity, without lengthy installs and IT involvement," Lifesize Regional Director (India and SAARC) Gagan Verma told PTI.
Customers use video on their phones and they want that exact same simple-to-connect-to-anyone-from-anywhere experience in the office, he added.
The company will expand to 100 tier II and III cities across India this year through its channel partners as it eyes SMBs and mid market firms in the country, which require video conferencing solutions without the high cost and maintenance, Verma said.
"We have made exciting additions to our Cloud service that lets everyone meet over video from everywhere on every device, seamlessly connecting them to any conference room or individual," he added.
Now a user can connect directly through the web browser, whether it is Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or SafariTM, and can make 'one-click' Lifesize Cloud video calls directly from the web browser, he added.
Lifesize Icon 400 is an easy-to-use video communication tool that puts control in the hands of the user with a simple and intuitive interface and enables users to quickly add video and audio participants to the call and easily share content with all meeting participants, Verma said.
While, Lifesize Icon Flexis designed for businesses that already deploy a personal collaboration application such as Microsoft Lync, Skype, Google Hangouts, Cisco Jabber and WebEx or Citrix GoToMeeting as a primary meeting option.
It turns a small meeting room environment into a complete conference room solution and users simply plug in their PC or Mac via USB and Icon Flex takes over all video and audio capture and processing, he added.
The expanded capabilities of Lifesize Cloud are expected to be available in February 2015 and annual subscription plans start at USD 25 per user per month. Icon 400 is also available today and Icon Flex is expected to be available in March 2015.
