Light rains bring down temperature in UP

Light to moderate rains occurred at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours bringing down temperatures in several parts of the state.
According to the Met department, chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms was Jhansi, Sultanpur 5 each, Bansgaon 4, Gorakhpur, Harriya, Domari, Uttaraula, Fatehpur 2 each, Hata, Baberu, Basti, Mankapur, Maharajganj, and Mirzapur 1 each.
Day temperature fell markedly in Jhansi, Meerut divisions, fell appreciably in Kanpur, Lucknow, Agra divisions, fell in Faizabad division, rose appreciably in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.
Highest maximum temperature was 45.8 degree Celsius recorded at Etawah, the Met department said.

Rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places in eastern UP and isolated places in western parts of the state on Friday, the Met department predicted.
