As Jammu and Kashmir grapples with one of its worst natural disasters, the state government today asked its employees to listen to their conscience and report for duty immediately.
Chief Secretary M I Khanday appealed to the government employees, who have not returned to work, to report for duty as soon as possible.
"If you do not pay heed to this appeal, please listen to your conscience," a state government message on Radio Kashmir said.
Armed forces and National Disaster Relief Force have rescued more than two lakh marooned people as the worst floods in the state in a century claimed at least 250 lives and left a trail of destruction.
