LJP MLA from Govindganj in East Champaran district Raju Tiwari registered an FIR with Malahi police station about receiving a Rs ten lakh extortion demand on his mobile, Officer in-Charge of Malahi police station Rajesh Kumar said.
The MLA, in his written complaint, said he got a threatening SMS from a mobile number last night demanding Rs ten lakh, failing which he was threatened that his family would be eliminated.
The MLA in his complaint has also said the mobile phone from which the threatening SMS came, was still active.
Tiwari also demanded prompt police action and immediate arrest of the culprit.
