Fakir Siddiqui and his nephew Saifu allegedly manhanded Sayed Afzal Ahmad when the latter objected to parking of vehicle in front of his house, they said quoting the FIR.
The FIR was yesterday registered against Siddiqui and Saifu under sections 452 (assault or wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntary causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of IPC, they said.
Siddiqui had contested 2007 Assembly polls from Lucknow East constituency on SP ticket and 2012 elections from the same seat on BSP ticket.
No arrests have so far been made in the matter, police said, adding a probe is underway.
