Locals avert possible assault on girl child

Locals today saved a 10-year-old girl from possible assault after they caught and thrashed a man, who was taking the child along with him, police said today
The incident occurred at Banjara basti in Ramganj area. The man, identified as Shahadat Khan, stopped the girl who was going to a nearby place and started talking with her. Moments later, he took the girl and started walking.
Some locals, who were watching this, caught the man and thrashed him before informing police.
"The man, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested and being interrogated," Ramganj police station SHO Narendra Kumar said.
