According to a FIR lodged yesterday by the local municipal corporation SDO Omprakash More, a crowd of about 35-40 people began pelting stones on the demolition squad after they started dismantling illegal buildings in the area.

Later, the irate crowd also vandalised the police vehicles as well as the corporation's JCB machine.

A case has been registered against unknown people in this connection while further probes are on, police said.
