Locals protest after ox carcass found in Ghaziabad

Agitated locals today protested and blocked the Pilkhuwa-Faridnagar road after an ox carcass was found at a village here.
The infuriated villagers were demanding the early arrest of the miscreants. They also pelted stones on the vehicles in which a bus carrying a marriage party was also damaged.
The traffic movement was restored after police assured the protesters of action against the guilty, said Senior Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar.
The carcass was found near a minor irrigation canal in Atrauli village under Bhojpur police station area in the district in the morning, he said.
An FIR has been registered under the prevention of cruelty to animals act 1960 against unknown persons, the officer added. PTI CORR
