2,883 cases under the Labour Act, Weights and Measures Act, Motor Vehicles Act, Excise Act, Gambling Act and an Uttar Pradesh act relating to illegal construction were disposed of by the Lok Adalat yesterday, District Legal Services Authority secretary Vikas Srivastava said.
A pecuniary fine of Rs 8,28,320 was recovered in these compoundable cases. 168 cases of revenue from tehsils were also decided, he said.
The Lok Adalat was held here on a direction of Lucknow-based Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority. It was presided over by District Judge Ram Krishna Upadhyay.
