Lok Adalats were helping in reducing pendency of cases considerably, Justice M Duraiswamy of Madras High Court said at nearby Palacode today.
Inaugurating a combined court premises for District Munsif Court and Judicial Magistrate Court, he said population increase had resulted in manifold rise in litigations.
Noting that delay in disposal of cases would affect both the public and judiciary, he said the judiciary had initiated steps, including regular Lok Adalats, for speedy disposal of cases.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Su. Willyahm Presided over the function.
