A Special Investigation Team of Lok Ayukta today raided five iron ore export and transport companies in connection with alleged illegal extraction and export of iron ore from different ports.
The 15-member team seized documents pertaining to iron ore exports and transport during the raid, officials said.
Of the raided firms, four are located in Hospet and one in Sandur.
CBI has also issued notices to 252 firms as part of its investigation into the illegal extraction and export of iron ore through seven ports.
The state government had ordered a CBI probe based on the Lok Ayuktha report on illegal mining.
