Lokayukta police files report against Minister, Yeddyurappa

The Lokayukta Police today filed its final report in connection with a private complaint filed against Karnataka Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani, former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and others accusing them of illegally ordering cancellation of an industrial site on the basis of a forged signature.
The Investigating Officer filed the report before Lokayukta Judge N K Sudhindra Rao. The report discloses "proven allegations" against the accused under sections 418 (knowingly using forged document as genuine), 465 and, 471 (forgery), 120(b) for conspiracy of Indian Penal Code and 15 rw 13(1)(c) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
The court adjourned the matter to March 14.

Besides Nirani and Yeddyurappa, other accused are former Principal Secretary, Industries department V P Baligar and former Managing Director Udyog Mitra K S Shivaswamy.
The final report has been filed pending sanction for prosecution by the designated authority.
On May 21 last year, the court had ordered the Lokayukta police to investigate into the complaint filed by industrialist Alam Pasha.
The complainant alleged Yeddyurappa and Nirani cancelled allotment of 26 acres by Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) to him for setting up of an industry on the basis of a forged letter.
