The enigmatic pacer sent out a warning to the rival teams' batsmen in the World Cup, saying that he had never cared about reputations or past records.
"I am delighted to be back in the squad after three years and I just pray I get a chance to play against India in the opening match," Khan told PTI on Wednesday.
"I am well aware how important this opening match will be against India because if we do well it will give us momentum in the entire tournament. So I am looking forward to the challenge of bowling to their batsmen, particularly Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma," Khan said.
Sohail was last year banned by the Karachi City Cricket Association for misbehaviour in the national T20 super eight event.
"Yes, it has been a big turnaround for me and I have taken my cricket very seriously this season, concentrating on my batting as well. I think I have gained in pace as well so I will go to the World Cup in a confident state of mind," he said.
Sohail, since making his Pakistan debut against Sri Lanka in 2009 at Karachi, has appeared in just two Tests and five One-day Internationals and his last appearance for Pakistan was in Zimbabwe in 2011. But he has been in outstanding form this domestic season for Port Qasim Authority.
