Lt Governor dispenses with security, walks along beach

: Dispensing with security, Lt Governor of Puducherry Lt General (retired) A K Singh today walked along the beach today, official sources said.
He walked from near the Tahsildar's office upto the northern side from 6. AM and covered a distance of around 2.5 km (one way) upto the Dupleix statue, they said.
Singh has been holding the post of Lt Governor under additional responsibility as he is the Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar islands since July 17, succeeding Virendra Kataria who left the union territory on a directive from the Centre after holding the post for a little over a year.

On an earlier occasion Singh had used a bicycle from Raj Nivas to Indira Gandhi sports complex at Uppalam and returned to Rajnivas. He was accompanied then by his security officer on another bicyle.
Singh is here to present his customary address to the Assembly tomorrow when the budget session commences. The session is likely to be held for nearly 10 days.
He will launch a website portal of Raj ivas tomorrow after addressing the Assembly.
