Lucy Liu directing season 2 premiere of 'Luke Cage'

Actress Lucy Liu is directing the season two premiere of the superhero series "Luke Cage".
"What a thrill to collaborate with Marvel and Netflix, two industry titans, who paint our world with inspiring stories and beguiling characters. It is such an honour to work with such a passionate and fearless team," Liu said in a statement.
The 48-year-old stars's involvement with the series, which is set to return in 2018, continues her work relationship with Netflix, reported Deadline.
She recently joined Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell, and Taye Diggs in the streaming giant's upcoming comedy "Set It Up" from director Claire Scanlon.

Though Marvel is keeping mum on details around the second season of their superhero drama about the Defender with unbreakable skin, executive producer Jeph Loeb shared some insight into Liu's vision.
"When you're dealing with a bulletproof man, it helps if you have a bulletproof director. Lucy brings a keen eye, a superb sense of story, and an obvious love of actors. She is rocking 'Luke Cage 2'," he said.
