Venezuela's main opposition, which boycotted presidential election, urged the two candidates who opposed President Nicolas Maduro not to recognize the results, calling the poll a fraud.

"We want the candidates who presented themselves to take a step forward and not recognize a result that is already cooked," said Victor Marquez of Frente Amplio, one of the main opposition parties.

Opposition lawmaker Juan Andres Mejia called on former governor Henri Falcon and evangelical pastor Javier Bertucci, who ran against Maduro in the controversial poll, to join opposition calls "to demand free and democratic elections together."
