Leading digital agency Magnon's founder and ex-CEO of TBWA India Group, Vineet Bajpai, today announced his new venture -- talentrack -- a hiring platform for all genres of media, entertainment, creative and art talent.
It's a mobile plus Web model that caters to requirements of actors, models, singers, dancers, bands, DJs, photographers, stylists and artists across a vast spectrum of categories.
The platform comprises a mobile app that talents can install and use to build, manage and promote their portfolios.
The app allows them to get accessed by industry recruiters and get job offers in real time.
Talentrack also has a strong Web presence in the form of perhaps the largest web portal and aggregator of the Indian media, entertainment, creative and art industries -- www.Talentrack.In.
Speaking at the launch, the founder and CEO of talentrack, Vineet Bajpai said, "India is the largest film industry and the third-largest television industry in the world. It has a vibrant music sector, art and publishing industries and many more creative domains that are purely talent-driven.
"And yet, in such a vast and growing talent-dependent market, there is no online talent aggregator. This is a huge gap and a huge opportunity. Talentrack envisions to fill this gap."
He was hopeful that just the way job portals revolutionised hiring in the corporate sector, talentrack will bridge the yawning gap between millions of artists and recruiters.
The aim is to help not just artists and employers but intermediaries like casting directors and agents, producers, coordinators, modeling agencies, event companies and more, he said.
Talentrack has raised its first round of funding from Unigrowth, a Canada-based early-stage investment fund.
Speaking on Unigrowth's investment into talentrack, Nishish Jha, Chairman of Unigrowth, said, "For us, this was a no-brainer. In today's clutter of start-ups, it is rare to find an entrepreneur of Vineet's stature and proven track record. Moreover, we truly believe that the USD 30 billion Indian media and entertainment sector needs a credible talent and industry aggregator."
With a start-up team of 40 professionals, talentrack has offices in Delhi and Mumbai, over 18,000 talents registered and 1,45,000 followers on Facebook.
The company plans to scale up rapidly over the next 12-18 months.
