"Maharashtra Chief Minister (Devendra Fadnavis) had come to Rajkot airport today and from where he was supposed to take an helicopter to a pilgrim place -- Parab Vavdi. His helicopter took off from the airport here but after some 10 minutes due to bad weather it had to land," said a senior airport official.
"Soon after the take off, the helicopter witnessed bad weather condition and after ten to fifteen minutes, it landed at around 12.30 PM," he said.
According to state BJP leaders, the Maharashtra CM was here to attend an annual religious congregation at 'Sant Amardas ni Jagya' (a tomb of saint Amardas) at Parab Vavdi - a pilgrim place.
The development was also confirmed by Nitin Bhardwaj, Standing Committee Chairman of Rajkot Municipal Corporation, who went to receive Fadnavis.
Bharadwaj said that the Maharashtra CM paid homage to the pilgrim place and returned to Mumbai at around 4 PM.
Gujarat transport minister Vijay Rupani and Minister of state for Energy Govind Patel also met Fadnavis at the airport.
