He said the state government was ready to rehabilitate occupants of illegal floors of the housing society on the same lines of rehabilitation of residents in suburban Mumbra.
Bringing up of such an ordinance was proposed by affected residents of the society and from some legal experts.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in its notice to the society had said it has organised demolition of illegal floors on November 12.
As many as 100 families are occupying 35 illegal floors in seven buildings of the housing society.
Various parties, including the Shiv Sena-BJP which rules the BMC, have extended their support for the cause of the residents, saying they will oppose the razing.
Meanwhile, residents of illegal floors in Campa Cola Compound vowed to keep up their fight when BMC initiates demolition process tomorrow.
On October 1, the Supreme Court ordered the residents to vacate illegal flats, above the fifth floors of six out of seven buildings on the premises, by November 11, while occupants of Shubh Apartments will have to move out by November 30.
Mumbai Police yesterday issued a notice to the residents under section 149 of CrPc warning them of appropriate action in case of any law and order problem during razing.
