"Industries in Maharashtra are not moving outside. In fact, thanks to a number of important decisions taken by our government, several companies from abroad as well as other states in India have shown interest in setting up their plants here," Desai said here.
"However, while inviting big industries in the state, we don't want to neglect the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Therefore, while granting permissions to the companies to set up their plants here, we are putting a condition in the agreement, asking them to ensure the growth of MSMEs. This helps the growth of local industries," he added.
The minister added that in order to expedite several development projects stuck due to the resistance of the project-affected people, a meeting would soon be organised to address their issues.
With the decision to scrap the River Regulation Zone policy, path for setting up a number of industries has now been cleared, Desai said.
