Stating that Armed Forces make significant contribution both during war-like situation and natural or man-made calamities, he said, the Flag Day provides the nation an opportunity to express its gratefulness towards the officers and jawans.
Speaking at the programme organised by the Collectorates of Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban districts, the Governor lauded the work being done by the Armed Forces in Chennai in the aftermath of the recent spell of heavy rains there, a Raj Bhavan spokesperson said.
He also expressed the need to create guidance centres at all districts to inform the youths about career opportunities in the Armed Forces and provide them training for NDA and other exams, the spokesperson said.
