Rajendra Bairangi, NMC's fire-brigade head-office chief, had demanded a bribe through a private person to issue a no-objection certificate to a maternity hospital here, a release by ACB's Nashik unit said.
Following a complaint by the hospital authorities, a trap was laid this afternoon and Bairagi was apprehended while taking the bribe, it said.
A case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered and investigations are on, ACB officials said.
