The Mahakumbhabhishekam of the famous cave temple dedicated to Karpaga Vinayaka (Lord Ganesha) near here will be held on May 1.
It will be held between 9 and 10:30AM, according to a temple release here.
The consecration would be preceded by 'Ettu Kala Poooja' (special homams performed at various points of time) from April 24, it said.
The maha abhishekam to the main deity will be held in the evening of May 1 followed by procession carrying the idol through the main streets.
The temple is believed to have been constructed during the fourth century AD.
