Mahindra group's pre-owned vehicle seller Mahindra First Choice Wheels (MFCWL) today announced a foray into used electric cars segment.
MFCWL will offer customers an organised platform to exchange, buy and sell pre-owned electric cars with certification and warranty, the company said in a statement.
It has joined hands with group firm Mahindra Electric to develop warranty programme for pre-owned electric vehicles.
The programme will cover electric and electronic components of pre-used certified cars, including battery, battery pack parts and the drive train.
Commenting on the development, MFCWL MD & CEO Nagendra Palle said: "Increased awareness and higher acceptability of eco-friendly electric vehicles, coupled with government initiatives, are steadily driving the growth of electric vehicles."
The platform for pre-owned electric cars will help us cater to the new discerning segment of customers, while facilitating the growth of the electric vehicles market, he added.
Mahindra Electric CEO Mahesh Babu said the partnership with MFCWL will help the company further establish longevity of electric mobility as a solution to address urban transportation needs.
