Marketmen said trimming of positions by participants in tandem with a weak trend at the domestic spot markets, mainly dragged down prices at futures trade.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, maize for delivery in current month dropped by Rs 14, or 0.97 per cent, to Rs 1,424 per quintal, showing an open interest of 2,000 lots.
Maize for delivery in June also receded by Rs 4, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 1,501 per quintal, having an open interest of 210 lots.
